Postpartum

What is a Postpartum Doula?

As a Postpartum Doula, I offer non-medical assistance and evidence-based information regarding infant feeding, physical and emotional healing after birth, mother-baby bonding, newborn care basics, and infant soothing.

As a Postpartum Doula, I support families during the initial days and weeks after they welcome a new baby into their home. I always keep the Client's parenting preferences in mind and do not impose my viewpoints on them. It's important to note that Postpartum Doulas are not housekeepers.

Once the baby is home, I offer the following services:
- Education on postpartum challenges
- Breastfeeding guidance and suggestions (Note: I am not a certified lactation consultant)
- Emotional support and care for the new mother
- Assistance with postpartum care (e.g., preparing sitz baths)
- Light housekeeping (e.g., light laundry, washing/folding, tidying up)
- Guidance on newborn care, including diapering, bathing, feeding, and soothing
- Planning of nutritious and healthy meals
- Techniques for soothing the baby
- Referrals to local resources
